Client: Austin Independent School District Project Description: The Austin Independent School District engaged Shore Research to conduct a series of literature reviews summarizing the research on the effects of disproportionality in the disciplinary referral practices in school districts and among school based law enforcement agencies. Shore subsequently presented these findings to AISD whose staff incorporated best practices into their new student support system designed to improve school discipline outcomes and decrease disproportionality. The Challenge: Conduct a literature review on the topic of disproportionality in in-school disciplinary practices to inform program and policy development in a large metropolitan school district.
